About
The Wildwood Film Festival is the chief source of funding for Wildwood Productions, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The organization's purpose is to promote Wisconsin film talent (actors, directors, writers, composers, editors, etc.). We also strive to educate high school students and adults in film basics-script writing, story boarding, filming, lighting, sound, editing and marketing.
History
Wildwood Film Festival first appeared in Green Bay October 2002. Nine films were featured, including one of our own (a feature length dark comedy titled "The Hunt"). The festival attracted a mere 100 people over the course of one weekend. This event was followed by a screening of local films in Shawano, which drew enough attendance to fill the theater to capacity as friends, family and strangers gathered to see three films that were filmed in the area.
Wanting to grow the event, we decided to go where the people are, so we found a home in the Fox Valley. In 2004, the Festival hosted its first event at the Fox Cities PAC, and it has been there ever since (with the exception of 2006 when it was held at the Big Picture Theater).
